Media Strategy & Purchasing

For approximately 5 years Elton served as a media buyer for Metro Vancouver. During that time, Elton was instrumental in raising awareness for numerous initiatives launched by the organization to the Greater Vancouver area.

These campaigns included a mix of broadcast, print, out-of-home and digital media campaigns. In an effort to reduce the strain on waste management we handled media strategy and purchasing for the seasonal “Make Memories, Not Garbage” campaign and “Food’s Not Waste” organics campaign as well as a water conservation campaign during the Summer among other smaller campaigns.

Unlike most of our clients, the creative for the campaigns was mostly produced by Metro Vancouver’s in-house production team, but they relied on Elton’s production services to take their creative and format the files for broadcast, close-caption and deliver the creative to the stations to quickly turn it around from their studio to the stations. We also took the creative through the hoops to get the ads approved as public service announcements which helped achieve greater awareness when possible.
